2021年10月,美国斯坦福大学(Stanford University)联合Elsevier BV数据库发布了世界排名前2%科学家名单(World’s Top 2% Scientists 2021)第三版,西安交通大学80余位研究人员入选该榜单,其中我实验室主任郭烈锦院士,副主任沈少华教授,以及Vayssieres, Lionel教授、黄佐华教授、敬登伟教授、何银年教授、戴义平教授、王江峰教授等 8人入选世界排名前2%科学家名单长期综合榜。郭烈锦院士等23人入选世界排名前2%科学家名单2020年年度榜。

美国斯坦福大学John P.A. Ioannidis教授及其团队,通过对世界科学家和科学学科的标准化引文指标数据库的长期系统研究,于2020年10月16日,在国际著名学术期刊《PLOS BIOLOGY》上发表了研究论文“Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”。论文通过对截至到2020年5月6日Scopus引用数据的系统分析,建立了一个包含16万多名各领域全球顶尖科学家发表论文和论著的公开数据库,采用标准化的论文被引、h指数、经合著调整的hm指数、以及综合指标等方法进行科学统计研究,评估了各领域每一位科学家职业生涯发表论文和论著的被引影响力。论文研究数据来源丰富、全面、客观,分析研究方法系统、科学,论文评估结果准确、权威。考虑到不同子研究领域的差异,从近七百万科学家里,筛选出世界排名Top 2%的科学家,涵盖文、理、工学科,包括了22个领域和176个子学科,更新的数据中还显示了每位科学家在其子学科内的综合引用指数排名。此数据提供了一个面向科学家长期科研表现的衡量指标,能够更客观、更真实的反映科学家的影响力。
早在2019年,John P.A. Ioannidis教授团队还发布了全球前10万名科学家排行榜(100,000 top scientists),包括一份1996~2017的“22年综合榜”(career-long)、一份“2017年单年榜”、等五份综合打分表,此数据基于Scopus数据库,使用了:1)总引用量,2)Hirsch H-index,3)共同作者修正的Schreiber Hm-index,4)单独作者,5)单独或者第一作者,和6)单独、第一或者最后作者的文章引用量等六种关键因素的指标来进行打分。两个榜单分别列出了全世界约700万名科学家中排名前10万人的榜单,涵盖文、理、工学科包括22个领域和176个子学科。排名方法研究论文Supplementary datatables for "A standardized citation metrics author database annotated forscientific field"发表在PLOSBiology上。
